WHO AM I…
In my experience, actors are without a doubt some of the most courageous people I know. And I honor your resilience tremendously. That being said, as a headshot photographer I approach each of our sessions with this type of respect. I’m not just interested in taking a pretty picture of you. Nowadays, most anyone can do that. Hell, social media outlets are flooded with them ad nauseam. My goal with each session is to produce photos that get to the heart of who you are, and what you bring to the table as an actor, and to unapologetically tell that story. To me, a successful headshot is more about storytelling. The human condition. If each one of your headshots doesn't tell the viewer at least 4-5 different aspects about you, then it’s not a successful headshot. I often joke with clients that I strive to get you photos that don’t get you killed off in the first episode. But in actuality I’m only half joking. I want to make it abundantly clear to casting directors and producers through our photos that when you show up to set you are absolutely grounded in yourself and your abilities as an actor. And that you have the gravitas to carry the heavier loads. To achieve that we need to tap into different aspects of your humanity. Not unlike with good acting, the character comes from you. And the way I approach headshots is very much with this in mind.
There's no conveyor belt headshot sessions with me. You will never be rushed out the door with my next client staring us down. We take the time needed to flush out fully realized, highly nuanced versions of each of our looks. Not some carbon copy of some other person’s idea of what that particular look should be. Everyone is different so I want to see what unique qualities that you bring to the table. And I take painstaking efforts to ensure that you are 110% confident before we ever shoot a frame. In fact from the time we book a session til the day we shoot I'm available to you to give my input on your looks so that you’re absolutely ready to crush your session on our day. Your success is my success. And I'm here for you every step of the way to make sure that we achieve that goal.
